All of a sudden, I hear her say quietly, "cut my hair..." WHAT? Cut what? I panicked, and thought of the manicure kit she had in her possession. Oh no - I vagely remember there being scissors in that kit (since I was the last to use them, so really we could blame this all on me). As I make my way over to where Hayley was sitting, Grandma Vickie jokingly says, "Oh, someday you know she's going to cut her own hair...or her sister's." My heart sank.
As I approached Hayley, all I saw were small piles of her beautiful, shiny hair on the dark green area rug. Oh no - it happened. She cut her own hair.
She got a talkin' to, alright...but I kept my cool. She is pretty sensitive and as soon as I came over there, she knew she did something wrong - so I didn't want to make her feel worse than she already did. I fingered through her hair, and more hair came tumbling to the floor.
The good news is that those scissors were so small and can't cut a lot at one time....so it's almost as if she just thinned out her hair a bit (although you can definitely see where she made the cuts if you look close enough). She has an appt. to get her hair professionally "fixed up" this Thurs., so it'll be just fine.
I just can't believe it actually happened.

OH NO is right! She's still as cute as a button, but I might have sent Anna to a nunnery until it grew out if I were in your shoes...You have been a very busy blogger! I loved seeing all the great pictures of your trip to Atlanta. Miss you!
Okay sorry but I had to laugh. I'm guessing this will happen to me someday too so I can laugh right. It sounds like things could have been much worse. When I was a kid I shaved my eyebrows off so in the scheme of things thinning out her hair isn't the worst that Hayley could have done. I can just picture her checking out the scissors and thinking to herself, "Hey I bet I can cut my own hair!" Too cute and what a great thing to laugh about in a few years!
