I didn't make it to this month's book group (sorry, but I had the opportunity to have a golfing date night with the hubby...I love book group, but I love my hubby more!). But I did read the book: Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh

My two cents on it: I was bored at first...didn't agree with all the things the author was saying. I kind of felt like I knew and/or heard before what she was saying. (yawn) But as I kept reading, I started to enjoy her comparisons of the shells to different stages in life, not only her life, but anyones life. I suppose if I picked up the book 10 years from now, or even 10 years earlier, my perspective on it would be completely different. So that makes it interesting in itself. In the end, I actually liked it.

I'm hosting next month's book group, so I better be there. :) If you want to join us from afar, read the book! The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. Husbands are invited. But since mine won't touch a book (or book group, for that matter) with a 10-foot pole, I've invited a co-worker and sis-in-laws to be my "dates."

Read it - tell me what you think?
