Baby Angel

My sister-in-law, Jennifer (she is married to Lance's brother, Carey) was pregnant and due in March. Sadly, at 14 weeks, she lost her baby. Jennifer unexpectedly (and with no explanation) went into labor. So she lost all her amniotic fluid - which actually meant they had to abort the baby - for her safety and because a baby could not live with any quality of life, or live at all, otherwise. It was a very sad time.

When she went in for the sad procedure, Carey and Jennifer found out that the baby was a girl. They ended up having the hospital Chaplin baptize and name the baby. They name they gave her was, Sophia Marie. they also had the little baby cremated and we had a special little ceremony at the local Mausoleum and her urn was placed with Lance's grandparent's urn.

Lance and I brought 5 pink balloons for the kids to release to little Sophia in the sky. It turned out to be more symbolic than we thought.
If you look closely at this picture, you can see the 5 pink balloons lined up in the sky. Carey and Jennifer loved how it represented their family...including Sophia. (Carey, Jennifer, Jaxon, Georgia and Sophia) Everyone watching them float away for the longest time. It was sweet.

So sweet. I'm sorry for her loss. I can't imagine losing a pregnancy that far along.
