To my friends and family, blog lurkers and faithful readers...I apologize it has taken me so long to introduce the newest member of our family...but without further a due, here is JACOB MILES - born February 1, 2009 (that's right, it was Super Bowl Sunday) at 3:28 p.m. He was 9 pounds 2 ounces and 21.75 inches long!
Delivery story: I was induced at 6:30 a.m. I opted to try to go through delivery without an epidural...only because I had an epidural with Hayley and didn't have one with Samantha (only because she came too fast), and I liked my recovery with Samantha so much more.
So, I was doing well...without any pain medications. I got to a 10 probably right around 1 p.m. I pushed for an hour. Baby's head wasn't coming down enough...so my doctor told me to stop pushing (let me tell you, dialated to a 10 and without pain meds...that is TOUGH to do!). So he asked if I wanted an epidural at that point, because then I could stop pushing without being in pain...just long enough for my doctor to help baby come down. So I got an epidural (which, mind you, was very tough to sit still through with hard contractions coming right on top of each other)...and all was good after that. After the epidural kicked in, I was able to start pushing again and my doctor helped bring baby's head down and wala - Jacob arrived!!
Since it's been almost two weeks since he was born, I have a lot of photos to post, so without a lot of captions...here they are. Enjoy! :)
Breakfast before going to the hospital...I can't believe how big my belly was!
The girls, Aunt Dianne and I painted our toes blue in honor of Jacob. :)
His first minutes of life
My awesome doctor...he has delivered all our children...and I wouldn't have it any other way! :)
The girls meeting their brother for the first time
The paparazzi :)
Of course there is so much more...but I'd better end this post and do another post of pictures of Jacob at home at a different time. It's just hard to not be camera crazy right now! :)
But for the current record, we are all doing well and adjusting to life with a new little one around. Jacob is such a sweet baby and we love him so much! The girls are really lovey with him and love to hold him and kiss him. It was so nice to have my family around and at the hospital when Jacob was born. My sister, her little girl, Lexi, my mom and dad and my brother, Paul, were all able to be here, and that was so cool. It's been so nice to have my mom and sister here helping us with the adjustments! they have been such a huge help...I don't know what I'm going to do when they leave! I guess I'll figure it out.
Until next time...
Stay tuned

I've been thinking about you and I'm so glad you're adjusting and getting used to having a boy. He's very cute and I can't tell who he looks like the most. Some pictures you and some Lance, guess I'll just have to judge when I meet him in person. Love you guys!!
Congrats, new babies are so exciting. It is wonderful to see your little family growing! I love the internet for that reason. But it seems like yesterday we were in GJ living on Glenwood Ave, crazy how time flies. I love how Lance is sporting the Mesa shirt at the hospital. Rion wore his Mesa bball jacket yesterday and it brought back good times. I am glad you guys got your little boy. We have two boys and are expecting #3 in about 8 weeks. We don't know the gender yet, but everyone around us is rooting for a girl. I just want it to be HEALTHY. Well take care and enjoy the new babe!!!
What a perfect little addition to your wonderful family, congrats guys!
Jacob is so so cute!! For 9 oz he sure seems tiny. Probably because I've been out of the baby stage for a while. I'm so happy for you and your family!
