Three Precious Prints

By request, here is the poem I wrote that went along with the hand prints gift I gave to my mom and dad.

Three Precious Prints

Little hands, tiny fingers
Come out to play one day
Created by our Father in Heaven
Put together by two people in love

With arms stretched out, hearts open wide
We take their hands and hold them tight
Teaching, guiding, loving them throughout
Hoping our hands love in all the right ways

Each day brings new joys, different challenges
Hands working hard to do what is right
Hugging, touching, holding them close
Never wanting to let go of their hands

It’s these moments that open our eyes
To a world we experienced so young
You were there with hands of your own
Showing us the way everyday

These hands come from a chain of love
Started way before our time
Opportunities of hope await their touch
The possibilities these hands hold are endless

Their precious touch, their strong embrace
The way they fold these hands for prayer
A hug, a touch, a tickle too
These hands share all that and more

For now, we keep them to ourselves
And keep them carefully guarded
From pains and heartaches they will face
Hands of time will only tell

From heavenly Hands above
To our earthly hands here today
These three precious prints
Are forever yours to hold

I got to see your gift to them in the Airport when Mom had a quick layover. Very cool gift and turned out spectacular!
