Cold, Cold, Cold and thanks mom!

1) Have you been watching the news or the weather channel?? Then you have seen or heard that many, many areas are being hit by this winter chill. Here in Montana, we are no exception. On Saturday night, I received 3 phone calls from church members letting me know that church had been cancelled because it was going to be so cold on Sunday. -12 degrees below ZERO! You know it's cold when church is cancelled!

I have to admit though, It was nice. Slept in a bit. Had a nice big breakfast with hot chocolate, oatmeal and toast. Then we pretty much lounged around all day watching Christmas movies, snuck in a nap and just had a nice time being together. I think the high for Sunday was something like -12...but with the wind chill factor, felt something like -30! On Monday it was even colder, -17 maybe?? WCF of -35 to -40?? Yeah, that's not even right. I do like winter, but anything below zero just isn't fun.

At least there's snow on the ground - that really makes it feel like winter! ;)

Hope it's warmer where you're at. :)

2) I also just wanted to thank my mom for being here last week. Lance was on yet another week-long business trip last week, and my mom was so generous to offer her time to come up and help me out while Lance was gone. It was wonderful! She had a good time hanging out with the girls and the girls really enjoyed their grandma here too. Dinners were awesome! The extra hands in the evenings, when I am most pooped from my days, was so helpful. I really appreciate you, mom, and just wanted to say thanks again!

p.s. The winter storm came in the middle of the night Friday/Saturday. And my mom was scheduled to leave Saturday morning. I was so worried about her flying because of the wind...no BLIZZARD that was happening the morning she was to take off. Lance took her up to the airport at 5:30 a.m. and waited for the plane to take off...just in case it wasn't going to take off. I am honestly surprised it did. But thankfully it made it to SLC just fine and all was well. New rule though, mom, no flying in blizzards again. That made me nervous. :) Love you!

Brrr, that is COLD! No fun!! I am glad your mom was able to come down and help while Lance was away. Moms are the best (and Dad's too)!!

I'm a firm believer that any time the thermometer dips below zero the whole town should shut down. it's no fun going to work and getting little ones to daycare when it's that cold! Your Sunday sounds exactly like mine, it was kind of nice to have an excuse not to do anything. Your Mom rocks!

Holy cow! When I left the weather was okay but now it's down right freezing! What in the world happened while I was gone?
Your mom is so sweet. What would we do without such wonderful mothers!

way to take advantage of the nasty cold. It's 5 degrees here, I'm sure that'd feel like a heat wave compared to what you've been dealing with. I would have loved to have been there for your mom's dinners..YUMMY..that's all I've gotta say. xoxox
