Isid...sopit

Funny, cute story:

It seems as though Samantha went from barely mumbling a word to all of a sudden speaking sentences. We are impressed everyday with the new things she is saying. However, it's not always clear, and trying to figure out what she is saying sometimes becomes a guessing game.

Like one day last week. Her and I were on the couch just hanging out. All of a sudden she turns to me and says, sort of sternly, with a fist a bit in my face and said, "Isid...sopit." (Of course I'm trying to spell it the best way I understood what was coming out of her mouth.)

I said, "What?"

"Isid...sopit."

"Say it again, sweetie, I don't know what you're trying to tell me."

"Sopit. Isid sopit."

After going back and forth for quite some time, I had a light bulb moment:
"Oh, are you saying, 'I said, STOP IT!'"

A huge grin appeared on her face, followed by a little, "uh-huh."

I just started to laugh. So did she. Then she just went around the room saying over and over, "Isid...sopit! Isid...sopit!" With a smile on her face the whole time. That's when I realized what I've been saying to the girls lately. Or at least how I was saying it. Her fist in my face while saying this phrase was her attempt at pointing a finger in my face while saying, "I said, stop it!" Opps.

(See Lacy, they repeat everything. Sometimes you don't even know how you talk to your kids until they give you a taste of your own medicine!)

Anyway, it was a funny moment from my little fireball!

Happy Friday!

What a cute story, I love the special way that kids say certain words. Paige calls a birthday..your "dirtday". I love that she Likes to brush her teeth with "poop-paste".
